Kailali DAO picketed
Dhangadi, March 27
Locals of Dhangadi today picketed Kailali District Administration Office over what they said was ‘non-implementation’ of a past agreement to get the post-mortem of a body done by a team of experts.
Earlier, on March 21, Janak Dhungal, the storekeeper at a rehabilitation home in Dhangadi sub-metropolis was found dead inside the rehabilitation home under mysterious circumstances.
In the wake of his death, there had been agreement between the kin of the deceased, police and the administration representatives, according to which the post-mortem of the body would be conducted by an expert.
Besides, the agreement had it that the government would provide funeral expenses to the deceased’s family and investigate everyone in the rehabilitation home including its operator in connection with the mysterious death.
Today, locals picketed the administration office, saying the agreement hadn’t been implemented two days after it was inked.
On his part, Kailali police Chief Superintendent of Police Abhushan Timilsena said that they were committed to honour the agreement and attributed the delay in carrying out the post-mortem to the time taken by experts to arrive in the district.
