Kailali man arrested with contraband pharmaceutical drugs

KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday arrested a person in possession of various pharmaceutical drugs from Nagdhunga of Kathmandu.

The detained has been identified as Lalit Bahadur Karki (47) of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-4 in Kailali district.

A team deployed from Nagdhunga-based Police Post arrested Karki after they seizedĀ  diazepam, phenergan and nurofen, 60 ampoules each and 5 ampoules of another pharmaceutical drug from his possession yesterday, according to police. The drugs were hidden inside a bag, he was carrying while travelling an a passenger bus (Lu 1 Kha 6393) en route from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, said police.
