Kaligandaki Rural Municipality of Syangja district has exported flower worth Rs 2 million in this festive season.
The flower produced from the locals in the rural municipality has been exported to the cities of Pokhara, Butwal and Kathmandu.
Chief of Agriculture Section of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality Anup Paudel said that the flower worth Rs 2 million, which was produced from 16 farmers and groups from seven wards of the rural municipality, has been exported so far. The rural municipality has provided 50 per cent in grant to the flower producers in Kaligandaki.
Paudel said that flower worth a total of Rs 2.5 million is expected to export until this Tihar festival.
For the production of flowers, the rural municipality had provided Rs 9,000 in grant per ropani and the farmers were also provided with consultations and technical assistance for free.
