Thapa directs leaders to leave Kathmandu for elections

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Kamal Thapa has directed his party leaders to get mobilised across the nation to prepare for the local level elections scheduled for May 14.

Speaking at a training programme at the party headquarters today, Thapa said the party would assign the leaders to stay in respective districts for a time being to expedite the preparations.

Also the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Thapa informed the party leaders that his party had not yet accepted the Constitution amendment bill under discussion at the Parliament.

Thapa reiterated that he joined the government just to ensure the timely elections.
