Kanchanpur locals protest demanding justice for Nirmala Panta
DHANGADHI: Local people have protested again demanding justice for Nirmala Panta, who was brutally raped and murdered in Bhimdutta Municipality-2 in Kanchanpur district on July 26.
Right activists, civil society, kith and kins of the victim protested demanding justice for the 13-year-old girl in Mahendranagar on Monday.
The rally started from Madan Chowk of Mahendranagar and reached the District Administration Office, where they carried out a demonstration before submitting an ultimatum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli via Chief District Officer.
Civil Struggle Committee Coordinator Meena Bhandari warned that a stern protest would be held if the government failed to make the culprit(s) public.
Likewise, the victim's father Ekraj Panta said, taking action against two police officers has not done any justice to us. "Take action against the real culprit(s) so that it would give peace to my daughter's soul."
Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Krishna Raj Ojha at the District Police Office said the protest was peaceful today.
Earlier, the Civil Struggle Committee had suspended its protest programmes citing the Dashain festival.
