KATHMANDU: A person died and another sustained injuries when a motorcycle they were riding on met with an accident in Betkot-6 of Kanchanpur district on Tuesday night.

According to police, motorcyclist Krishna Chaudhary (25) of Daiji, Betkot-6 died whereas pillion rider Niraj Chaudhary (22) of the neighbourhood was injured in the incident.

Krishna, who was critically injured in the incident, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Mahakali Zonal Hospital in the district.

Niraj is being treated at the same health facility, said police.

The incident occurred when the two-wheeler (Ma 1 Pa 8733) went out of control and hit a stray cow on the road at around 9 pm yesterday.

Police said the cow has also sustained an injury in its leg.
