CM Shahi to face vote of confidence on Tuesday

SURKHET: Chief Minister of Karnali Province Mahendra Bahadur Shahi would be seeking a vote of confidence from the Provincial Parliament on Tuesday.

The Parliament Secretariat has stated that he will face the vote of confidence in the 5th meeting of the State Assembly tomorrow.

According to CPN Maoist Centre Chief Whip Seeta Nepali, CPN MC and CPN-UML had issued a whip for all the members to be present and cast their votes for the government led by CM Shahi.

There are 40 lawmakers in the province. UML has 20 members, MC has 13 and Nepali Congress has six members.

A single lawmaker representing Rastriya Prajatantra Party had also supported the government in its formation.

As per the constitutional provision, the Chief Minister should take a vote of confidence from the provincial parliament within 30 days of being elected to the office.
