KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 24

The Kaski District Court has extended the detention of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane for an additional seven days.

Lamichhane was arrested last Friday at the RSP central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu, on charges of misappropriating cooperative savings and was then transferred to Kaski. Following which, Kaski court had remanded Lamichhane into police custody for six days for investigation.

According to Suraj Adhikari, the Information Officer of the District Court Kaski, the bench of Judge Chandrakant Paudel has granted the police permission to keep Lamichhane in custody for another seven days for further investigation, as reported by RSS.

Former Deputy Inspector General Chabilal Joshi, arrested in the same case and presented in court today, has also had his detention extended by another seven days.
