Kaski Education Office engineer duo caught red-handed while taking bribe

POKHARA: Two engineers were caught red-handed while taking bribe from service seekers at a restaurant in Chipledhunga, Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City, on Friday, CIAA said.

A Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) team deployed from Pokhara arrested engineer Chabindra Bikram Khand and sub-engineer Pradeep Kumar Baniya of Kaski District Education Office with Rs 1 lakh in cash.

After completion of a school building at Rabaidanda in Madi Rural Municipality in Kaski district, the duo had demanded bribe in exchange of monetary value for disbursing funds allotted for the building.

CIAA extended Pokhara office's Information Officer Ramesh Dhakal said, "Further investigations are underway to collect more evidences against them before filing a case at the Special Court."

Meanwhile, the duo have been kept at the CIAA Pokhara office.
