Hetauda, March 28

A written proposal was registered with the Provincial Assembly secretariat of Province-3 today seeking Kavre as the permanent provincial headquarters.

Lawmakers Chandra Bahadur Lama had registered the proposal, with CPN-UML lawmaker Laxman Lamsal and Basundhara Humagain, CPN-MC Ratna Dhakal seconding the proposal. As per the proposal, existing Information Technology Park situated on the confluence of Banepa, Dhulikhel and Panauti has been proposed as the permanent headquarters of the province.

After registering the proposal, Lama defended the proposal to make Kavre the provincial headquarters in view of its proximity to other areas of the province. The issue of whether Kavre should be made the provincial headquarters had started in the Provincial Assembly meeting from yesterday.

Meanwhile, the lawmakers have demanded that the issue of fixing permanent provincial headquarters be decided as soon as possible. Most of the lawmakers have suggested fixing the headquarters through consensus rather than taking the issue to vote. Earlier, CPN-MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal had claimed that Hetauda would be made the permanent headquarters of the province.
