KATHMANDU, MAY 11

A British climber scaled the world's highest mountain for the 15th time breaking his own British record for the most Mt Everest summits early this morning.

According to Iswari Poudel, Managing Director at Himalayan Guides Nepal Pvt Ltd, Kenton Cool from Gloucestershire, South West England, has broken his own British record for the most summits of the world's highest peak.

Cool along with fellow guide Dorji Gyalzen Sherpa reached the summit point at around 6:15 am, he said.

Kenton becomes the first Briton to climb Mt Everest for 15 times. Kenton also holds a record of the first British mountaineer who climbed Mt Nuptse, Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse in a season in 2013.
