KHOTANG: A fire has destroyed property worth more than Rs three million in Dhitung-8 of the Khotang district.

The fire destroyed six houses that belonged to locals Ratna Bahadur Budhathoki, Sanjay Budhathoki, Damber Bahadur Budhathoki, Hasta Bahadur Budhathoki, Ram Kumar Budhthoki and Nawaraj Budhathoki and the valuables inside, informed the Police Inspector Saroj Rai from the District Police Office, Khotang.

Inspector Rai informed that Ratna Bahadur suffered a loss of property worth Rs 570,000, Sanjay of Rs 742,000, Damber of Rs 576,500 and Hasta Bahadur of Rs 573,000.

As Raj Kumar and Nawaraj are out of the district, their property loss is yet to be evaluated.

Local Ganesh Karki informed that the fire that started on Tuesday night was only put off on Wednesday.

It was revealed that the fire started while Ratna Bahadur's children were cooking food.

The victims of the fire are residing in their neighbours' houses after the incident.
