Kirat workers seize land in Dharan
DHARAN: Kirat Janabadi Workers’ Party, which has been carrying out its underground activities in the eastern region, has seized 4 bigha and 11 katthas of land near Railway Chowk in Dharan 17.
The party hoisted a flag and pasted a press release in the spot. The press release signed by Bijay Lingden, Dharan city in-charge of the party, mentioned that the land was seized as the ‘land-mafias’ had sold the land dividing it into plots at exorbitant rates with out prior permission from the party.
The land owner Manoj Bhattarai said that the land was sold by AN Housing Company dividing it into plots.
He said, “So we must be given the right to do business.” He also informed that an union of the real estate agents would be formed to protect their rights.
Declaring the land seizure over the phone, central assistant secretary of the KJWP Hangsa Kirati said that the land was seized as Brahmin and Marwadi ‘land-mafias’ were cheating people.
