Koirala’s directives
Kathmandu, July 21:
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has directed the office-bearers of Nepal Women’s Association (NWA) to create a conducive environment for holding the constituent
assembly elections on November 22.
Koirala issued this directive to the association’s delegation led by its central president Ambika Basnet.
The delegation had visited the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar today.
The office-bearers of the association, protesting the recent firing of the employees of the Nepal Water Supply Corporation, demanded that action be taken on the matter.
Koirala is learnt to have said that he will soon hold talks in this connection and make a decision, said Indira Koirala, a central member of the association.
The delegation also submitted a report on the gathering on the topic Constituent
Assembly and Women’s Participation.
