KATHMANDU, MAY 5
A team of Korean and Nepali climbers has scaled the unclimbed Phukhang peak, situated in Narphu in Manang district.
An expedition team comprising five Koreans from Korea Kyung Boc High School Alpine Club and two Nepalis successfully scaled the peak on May 4, 2022.
"Phukhang, which had not been climbed till date, has successfully been scaled for the first time," Managing Director of Trekking Camp Nepal, Wangchu Sherpa informed.
The team led by Kim Migon completed the ascent of the 6694m high peak at around 10:30 am on Wednesday.
The expedition team had left the capital on April 16.
KIM MIGON , KANG SIN WON, JANG DAEBOO, KIM MINSOO, LEE KUNJIN from Korea, along with Nepali guides Tshering Sherpa and Dawa Tshering Sherpa conprised the team.
They are scheduled to return to the capital on May 8.
