Oli-led government dug its own grave: Nepal

Rautahat, August 9

Senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal today said that his party had to cede power owing to the KP Sharma Oli-led government’s ego and rash behaviour.

Addressing his party’s meet in Chandrapur, Rautahat,Nepal said, “Oli’s government was forced to abjure power after it failed to take CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal into confidence as per the agreement reached between the CPN-UML and Maoist Centre.”

Dahal was in a haste to become prime minister. If he was propelled to power, UML would not have to abjure power, Nepal added.

Nepal reiterated that Oli government’s ego and rash activities had caused the downfall of the UML-led government. Disclosing that foreign forces had asked Maoist Chairman Dahal repeatedly to oust the Oli-led government, Nepal argued that Dahal had overthrown Oli after he failed to bear international pressure.

Nepal charged the Nepali Congress of working for money and power. “It is pointless to talk about a party like the NC that has failed to hold the conventions of sister organisations,” Nepal commented.

Nepal also accused Madhesi parties of running after power and money. “Madhesi parties are making politics and people their source of income,” Nepal charged.
