On final campaign day, Oli castigates govt, Madhesi leaders

DHANGADHI:  CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli heavily criticised the government and leaders of Madhes-centric parties on Thursday.

Addressing a mass meeting in Dhangadhi of Kailali, Oli said the government and the parties were involved in plots against the nation.

On the final day of Mechi-Mahakali National Campaign, the main opposition had organised a mass rally and meeting in Dhangadhi today.

Addressing the mass meeting, the former Prime Minister alleged, "There is a conspiracy to disintegrate the country, excite ethnic and communal violence and hatred in an attempt to amend the Constitution by the government and the agitating Madhes-centric parties".

He further argued that there was an attempt to put off the scheduled local elections.

However, Oli said that his party would not tolerate and negotiate with any attempts of disintegration and stressed the prosperity of the nation.

The party's Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam and leader Garima Shah among others addressed the function.

However, former prime ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal did not speak.

At the rally, a large number of people were present and various cultural processions from the Tharu community were exhibited.
