A meeting of Nepali Writers' Association has nominated writer and poet Krishu Chhetri its international vice-chair. The association's meeting decided yesterday.
The Association held its Seventh Convention on April 1 and 2 in Pokhara under the chairmanship of Shrawan Mukarung. The convention also elected the association's new central committee under the chairmanship of senior poet Tirtha Shrestha.
The same meeting has elected Sashi Thapa Pandit as secretary and Bimala Tumkhewa, Manoj Neupane, Gita Regmi, Hem Pravash, and Indra Kumar Bikalpa as members.
Poet Chhetri, who hails from Jhapa, is also a lyricist and literary book and journal editor.
He propounded what is called 'Bilayan', an innovative genre of Nepali literature.
Chhetri has many creations to his name and has won various literary awards and honours.
