Baglung, January 2:

Locals in the southern part of Baglung district gave vent to their feelings of delight after a motor vehicle reached there for the first time. People of Kusmishera VDC flew into a frenzy, welcoming the passengers, driver with garlands and red tilak. The locals, in their enthusiasm, even strewed flowers over the vehicle.

Their happiness was the culmination of six years of labour in constructing the Baglung-Kusmishera VDC road sector. Although construction began six years ago, technical reasons had forced authorities to keep postponing the launch of the road sector.

Yesterday, two jeeps arrived at Tunibot in Kusmishera VDC, said Til Bahadur Thapa, chairman of the second road sector. “We were very happy after the arrival of the vehicles in such a remote area,” he said.
