Kyimolung Foundation in collaboration with Singapore-based Ben Cheong and Friends Magical Light Foundation donated an ambulance to Namobuddha Municipality in Kavre district, on Monday.

Wangchuk Rapten Lama, chairperson of Kyimolung Foundation handed over the keys of the ambulance to Tanka Prasad Sharma Timilsina, mayor of Namobuddha Municipality on the occasion of the 111th International Women's Day.

"Celebrating this special day, we have successfully handed over the ambulance to Thrangu Phede Clinic of Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery at Namobuddha Municipality-1 in the district," Lama shared, adding, "ever since my posting as a medical-in-charge at Thrangu Phende Clinic in Namobuddha, I have had this dream of introducing the ambulance service, and now seeing it come to fruition, I am overwhelmed with joy."

For thousands of residents in Namobuddha Municipality, the Thrangu Phende Clinic serves as the only primary health care centre, and with the addition of ambulance service, patients will have better and faster access to healthcare, especially during emergencies.

Lama also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ben Cheong and his friends at Magical Light Foundation for their generosity and Thrangu Phende Clinic for their continued support for free healthcare.
