The Kyimolung Foundation has successfully concluded a four-day free health examination and treatment camp in the northern region of Gorkha district.

The camp, held from March 1-4, was a collaborative effort between the foundation and Chumanuwri Rural Municipality and financially supported by the international organization, Hero. It was coordinated by Elevate Nepal and was held in Sirdibas, ward 3.

According to Wangchuk Rapten Lama, chairperson of the Kyimolung Foundation, the camp served approximately 800 patients over its duration.

The camp was inaugurated by Laxmi Gurung, the deputy chair of Chumanuwri, and attended by Manoj Lamichhane, Chief Executive Officer of the rural municipality, Ram Kumar Gurung, chair of ward 3, and Prem Gurung, chief of the health division.

The camp offered a range of services including general health examinations, dental check-ups, gynecological and skin disease examinations, acupuncture, ECG, ultrasound, delivery services, nebulizer treatments, and eye check-ups, organizers said.

The camp, under the supervision of Nepali specialist doctors, also provided free prescription glasses and medications.

The camp comprised of a total of 49 members including eight American and five Nepali specialist doctors,foreign nurses, health volunteers, and local health workers, alongside modern equipment.

The camp was organized with an aim to provide medical support to the locals of Chumanuwri Rural Municipality,that is not touched by the road network so far.

In addition to the camp, the foundation conducted various public awareness programs on health-related issues and provided a three-day training session on safe delivery to health workers from all seven wards of Chumanuwri.

Furthermore, the foundation distributed birthing equipment like NASG, tamponate ballon, silux PPH, fitter doubler, pessary ring among others to birthing centers across Chumanuwri Rural Municipality, emphasizing the importance of safe delivery practices.

Various awareness-raising programs, including those on women's health, reproduction, and dental care, were organized by the foundation.

During the camp, with the assistance of Rewati Gurung, founder of Korkoma, packages containing warm hats, blankets, and clothes were distributed to around 60 children.

Despite challenging terrain, both national and foreign doctors traversed steep hills and landslides to conduct the camp in the heart of Chumanuwri, earning praise from Chairperson Lama of the Foundation.

Lastly, leftover medicines from the camp were handed over to the Sirdibas health post for continued use.

Previously, the Kyimolung Foundation conducted similar health camps in various wards of Chumanuwri, Arughat Rural Municipality, and Bimsen Thapa Rural Municipality.
