Lack of paramedics affects health services

BHOJPUR: Local residents in rural parts of the district have been deprived of health services since the health facilities there lack health workers as per the quota. Staffer at District Public Health Office, Hari Subedi, informed that 53 different posts were lying vacant in the district. Some posts of doctors lay vacant in the district hospital itself.

According to the DPHO post of a medical superintendent has been lying vacant in the district hospital for years. There are no doctors in primary health centres in Mulpani, Ranibas and Pyauli VDCs. The district has one hospital, three primary health centres, nine health posts and 51 sub-health posts. However, for lack of health personnel the facilities have served no purpose at all. The DPHO lamented that despite requests the centre had been apathetic and people were suffering for long.
