KATHMANDU, JULY 09

Police on Sunday arrested two more individuals on charges of their involvement in the embezzlement of land plots in Lalita Niwas.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Acharya, the Chief of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, stated that the arrested individuals are Lok Hari Ghimire, the former Chief of Samarjung Company, and Dhruba Aryal, a Survey Officer.

Ghimire has been charged with negligence in protecting government-owned land, while Aryal was involved in surveying the land plots in question.

Arrest warrants had previously been issued in their names.

Additionally, the CIB has already apprehended nine other individuals in connection with the same case.

Previously, the CIB had detained Min Bahadur Gurung, 69, the owner of Bhatbhateni Super Market, Dharma Prasad Gautam, 80, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7, Gopal Karki, 70, of Chandragiri Municipality-3, and Sudhir Shah, 68, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4. They were charged with forging government documents to unlawfully transfer public land at Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar to private individuals.

The CIB has stated that investigations are ongoing and will be concluded soon.
