LAMJUNG: An elderly man was killed on the spot after being hit by a passenger bus at Rainas in eastern Lamjung on Sunday.

Police identified the deceased as 69-year-old Ganga Ram Gurung of Pyarjung, Rainas Municipality-11 in the district.

Traffic Police Head Constable Bhumiraj Ghimire said a passenger bus (Na 4 Kha 96) heading to Borang of Lamjung district from Narayanghat of Chitwan district had knocked down Gurung.

The Rainas Municipality Executive Officer Nur Raj Kadariya said Gurung had visited his office to take a document about his migration a while before the accident.

DSP Samir Chandra Kharel said Dhamilikuwa Police Post impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver for investigation and action.
