Land dispute will be resolved soon: Minister

Kathmandu, January 7

The Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal today said the land dispute between Nepal Eye Hospital and Guthi Sasthan, Tripureswor, would be resolved as soon as possible.

Speaking at a programme organised by Nepal Eye Hospital, Minister Aryal said the disputed land would be used for public service.

President of the hospital Biswokanta Mainali said there was a dispute between the hospital and Guthi Sansthan for around 10 ropani land, which the hospital had been using as parking lot. It had also built infrastructure required for the hospital on the land.

Meanwhile, Guthi Sasthan has laid claim to the land and refused to allow the hospital to use it. “We have been providing health services at a cheap price and serving people for so many years. It is the first eye hospital of the country and it should be provided with necessary space to upgrade its services,” said Mainali.
