Land ownership papers recommended for 2,350 households

Damauli, April 14

Suklagandaki Municipality has recommended that land ownership certificates be given to 2,350 households, in Tanahun.

Executive Officer Hari Ram Nagila of the municipality said residents of those households have been living without landownership certificates for 14 years.

“We have recommended that they be provided the documents. The remaining work will have to be completed by the Inland and Survey office,” he informed.

Chairman Loknath Dhakal of CPN Samyukta said that he was sad as the residents of the municipality could not get their landownership certificates.

Locals at ward No 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13 of the municipality have been living without having landownership certificates for the last many years.

It is said that some of the households had received landownership certificates when Amar Raj Kaini was the state minister.

Land Registration Coordination Committee Secretary Bhadra Bahadur Khatri said he had requested senior Nepali Congress leader Ramchandra Paudel to take the initiative for the same.

Meanwhile, Diwakar Poudel, chief of district Inland Office said that more than 2,250 applications were filed and he has been studying them.

“We have also sent confusions to the ministry for land reforms for clarification ,” he informed. CDO Purusottam Kunwar said the work was forwarded on the basis of guidelines.
