JAJARKOT: Two people were killed and three others were injured when a landslide caused by incessant rains buried a house at Garkhakot Chhirka of Juni Chande Rural Municipality-6 in Jajarkot.

Police confirmed the deaths of Lali Budha (55) and her granddaughter Sirjana Budha (nine) in the landslide that occurred all of a sudden at 11:00 pm last night when they were asleep.

House owner Bhakta Bahadur, his grandchildren Paras (13) and Khima (seven) have been injured. Among the three, the condition of Khima is serious, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Bahadur Singh said.

The injured are being sent to the district headquarters for treatment.

A police squad from Garkhakot, Area Police Office walked up for four hours to reach the incident site, reaching there at 1:30 pm today for rescue efforts.
