Landslide risk forces 177 Chitwan families to shift

CHITWAN: As many as 177 households in hilly areas of Chitwan district, hit by the April 25 earthquake, are being shifted to safer locations.

The places are said to be at a high risk of landslides following the quake.

A meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee on Friday decided to shift the people within 15 days.

These families will be provided with foods and accommodation for six month for free.

Local Development Officer Bharat Mani Pandey said the government will be responsible for all the expenses for next six months.
