Landslide-triggered disruption of motorway continues
GULMI: The Ridi-Rudrabeni-Wamitaksar road section which has been disrupted due to heavy rain for a week has not come into operation yet.
More than a dozen of landslides occurred after incessant rain in several parts of Turang, Johang, and Ashlewa VDCs last Saturday had disrupted the vehicular movement in the road section.
Hundreds of vehicles including bus, goods-laden trucks, jeeps and tractors have been stranded on the road with the disruption of the road section.
Although bulldozers have been used to clear the debris of landslides, it has been difficult to do so due to the incessant rain, said Engineer of Tamghas-Simaltari Road Project Chandreshwar Shah. TheĀ engineer, however, hinted the possibility of bringing the road back to operation by Friday evening.
