KATHMANDU, AUGUST 4

Five road sections have remained completely obstructed while 13 have been partially disrupted due to monsoon-triggered floods and landslides.

According to the Department of Roads, Kavrebhir in Mustang, Nuwakot-Topla road section along Rara Highway, Amkot-Boldai section along the Sanfebagar-Martadi-Kolti road, Koilabas-Lamahi, Arjunkhola-Ghorahi-Holeri-Ghartigaun-Thawang-Lukam (Shahid Marg) and Mauri bridge area in Chitwan are not in a state to allow vehicular movement.

Traffic on the Kavrebhir route in Mustang has remained totally closed due to landslide. A giant rock has fallen in the landslide-hit area.

According to the Department, works have begun to clear the landslide debris with the use of equipment.

Similarly, an excavator has been hired to remove obstructions caused by the landslide along the Rara Highway.

Similarly, the department is waiting for rainfall and debris flow to stop before it can undertake efforts to resume the Sanfebagar-Martadi-Kolti road.

Though the department has prepared to intervene in the blocked Shahid Marg through an excavator, it has not yet been possible.

Efforts to clear the road along the Mauri Bridge are under way.

At present, 13 roads have seen one-way traffic operation.

Sammatar of Koshi Highway, Bansbari of Prithvi Highway, Chattis Khola of Tribhuvan Highway and Udipur of Dumre-Besisahar-Chame road have been partially obstructed.

Phaksinda-Dobhan-Barunkhola road section along the Koshi Highway, Kodari and Baseri road section along the Araniko Highway, Khahare and Dobilla along the Pushpalal Highway, and Jajarkot road section are being operated partially.
