Last rites of Saptari clash victims today

RAJBIRAJ: Funeral procession of four people, who died in different incidents during the ongoing Madhes agitation in Saptari district last week, has been carried out in Rajbiraj of the district on Saturday.

After the postmortem of bodies at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, the bodies were brought together for the condolences before they would be given funeral.

Birendra Ram of Daha VDC, Nageswhor Yadav and Shibashankar Das of Jamuni Madhepura-9 and Dilip Kumar Shah of Rajbiraj Municipality-1 were died during the ongoing strike of Madhes-based parties on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22.

The bodies were kept at Gajendra Chok of Rajbiraj for two hours today after marching around different parts of the district to pay tribute towards them.

Hundreds of locals had joined the procession.

Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, Sadhabhawan Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato and Tarai Madhes Sadhabhawan Party Chairman Mahendra Ray Yadav among other leaders had draped the parties' flags onto the bodies to pay last tribute.

According to Sunil Kumar Jha, coordinator of the United Democratic Madhesi Front in Saptari, informed that the Front will hand over the bodies to their families on Saturday evening.
