Two persons, including member of the House of Representatives Pramod Sah, were critically injured when two sides clashed over road construction in Ishworpur Municipality, Sarlahi, today.

The clash had erupted when locals rejected the idea of constructing a new building of Fuljor Youth Club at Bayalbas somewhere else for expansion of the of the Fuljor-Tribhuvannagar road section. The dilapidated building of the club lies the road at Bayalbash.

Lawmaker Sah and his personal security guard were injured in the incident.

Sah was attacked with rods and boulders. He has received deep cuts on his head. Sah was airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment after primary treatment in the district.

The side led by Sah, who is also spokesperson of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal, and another side led by Ishworpur Municipality Mayor Manoj Devkota had clashed over the road expansion.

"Mayor Devkota's jeep, a JVC machine and lawmaker Sah's jeep were vandalised in the incident," said DSP Madhav Budhathoki.

A reinforcement from the police office had dispersed the crowd at the incident site. Police have launched an investigation to bring the guilty to book.

Mayor Devkota told THT that parliamentarian Sah had come with hundreds of people with spears and local weapons. He said he had managed to save his life as Sah had come to kill him.

Devkota refuted that his supporters had attacked Sah.
