Lawmaker Oli seeks Bamjan’s arrest

KATHMANDU: Lawmaker Komal Oli voiced her concerns about failure to arrest Ram Bahadur Bamjan, a self-declared hermit, charged with rape and disappearance cases.

Bamjan has been accused of committing violence against women, and raping his disciples and disappearing them.

Speaking at zero hour on Wednessday at the National Assembly, Oli drew the attention of the government to launch investigation and arrest Bamjan at the earliest.

Likewise, lawmaker Udaya Sharma Poudel also called the attention of the government towards problems facing passengers due to the government’s pick-up and drop campaign under which bus stations have been removed from some areas of Kathmandu Valley like Bhrikutimandap and Lainchaur.

Chakra Prasad Snehi demanded that the government provide relief and compensation at  the earliest to families whose shops were burnt down in a fire in  Dadeldhura district. Property worth more than Rs 15 million was destroyed in the incident.
