Leader Mahato suggests govt to consider constitution amendment
SAPTARI: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) leader Rajendra Mahato has stated that the incumbent two-thirds majority government should consider amendment in the new constitution.
Speaking at a press meet held at Rajbiraj today, leader Mahato stressed the need for revising the national statute taking into consideration the sentiments of the Madhesh-movement.
Mahato shared that his party would submit a memorandum to the respective District Administration Offices and the Office of the Prime Minister on Monday.
The former minister said that the government should consider constitution amendment, holding swearing-in ceremony for lawmaker Resham Chaudhary, and revoking the cases of RJP cadres who have been detained on false charges.
Mahato added that the government must pay attention to controlling rising instances of murder, violence, rape, corruption, black marketing and inflation.
He was of the view that although activities of the provincial government of Province 2 was not satisfactory, the alliance between the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal and Rastriya Janata Party Nepal should continue in respect of the public mandate.
Moreover, he stated that the alliance between the FSFN and RJPN would be further consolidated.
