Leaders’ meet to finalise statute

Rupandehi, September 12 :

A member of the government talks team and Minister for Labour and Transport Management, Ramesh Lekhak, today said the interim constitution would be finalised by a meeting of senior leaders and that homework in this regard is on.

Inaugurating the 14th national convention of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs Federation in Butwal, Lekhak said the Maoists should follow the commitment expressed in the letter sent to the United Nations on the issue of weapons management.

He said the government has been flexible in dealing with the Maoists so that a new political system through a constituent assembly can be set up after successful peace talks.

“The government is committed to establishing peace,” Lekhak said.
