At least 30 passengers injured in Nawalparasi bus-truck collision

NAWALPARASI: At least 30 persons have been injured after the bus they were travelling on met with an accident in Bardaghat  Susta West along the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi today.

It is yet to ascertain the identities of those injured in the accident.

The bus (Lu 2 Kha 1605) en route from Kathmandu to Butwal collided head-on with a truck bearing Indian registration number (UP 83 AT 3966) when suddenly one of the tyres of the bus burst on the way today, according to police.

The injured have been undergoing treatment at the Butwal-based Lumbini Zonal Hospital and a community hospital in Bhumahi, according to the Area Police Office, Sunawal.

Of the injured, three are said to be in critical condition.

The number of passengers injured in the incident could reach more than 30, police said.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident is underway, police informed.
