Rain coupled with snowfall since last night has adversely affected life in the highlands of Dolakha.

Extreme cold triggered by heavy snowfall has hit life very hard in places such as Kalinchowk. Snowfall also disrupted transport services today. Rain and snow have affected children and elderly the most.

Diki Hotel's Proprietor Dambar Bahadur Tamang said there was snowfall in Kalinchowk temple and its surroundings and tourists were enjoying the snowfall despite the hardship.

According to local Sajan Tamang, it is snowing at Dolakha's Kharidhunga.

Snowfall has obstructed vehicular movement to and from Kathmandu to Dolakha. Farmers, however, are elated as the rain will help grow potato farming.

Surke Secondary School, Buddha Primary Jhankricahur and Kalidevi Primary School have been closed due to cold, said Surke Secondary School head teacher Jay Shrestha.
