Light earthquake in far-west Nepal; epicentre near India border

DHANGADHI: A light earthquake was recorded in the Far-Western Region of Nepal with the epicentre in Hikila village of Darchula district, bordering India, on Friday morning.

A technician at the Surkhet-based Regional Seismological Centre, Tirtha Dahal, said the magnitude-4.1 earthquake was felt at 11:13 am today.

DSP Kedar Khanal of the Darchula District Police Office informed that no any loss was reported from the light tremor.

On Monday night, a magnitude-5.6 earthquake was recorded in Uttarakhand of India and tremors were felt in far-western Nepal as well.
