KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 1

The sky, which cleared a couple of days ago following continuous rains that caused significant damage, is forecast to become cloudy again in Koshi Province starting today.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the sky over Koshi Province is currently cloudy, and this weather pattern is expected to affect Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces as well.

Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar stated that cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfall are expected in Koshi Province, with similar effects likely in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. This weather condition is anticipated to persist until Thursday.

Although no significant or continuous rainfall is forecast, the soil in nearly all parts of the country has become heavily saturated and loose due to recent heavy rains. Any additional rainfall could increase the risk of landslides and flooding.

Monsoon winds continue to influence weather patterns across the country. A low-pressure system positioned over Madhya Pradesh, India, is contributing to these conditions in Nepal.

Tonight, skies are expected to be partly to generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of the rest of the country. The remaining areas are forecast to experience partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.

Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in some areas of Koshi Province, and in a few locations in the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as isolated spots in the hilly regions of other provinces. Light to moderate rain is expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces on Wednesday, October 2.

The same weather pattern is forecast for Thursday, with the possibility of heavy rain in one or two areas of Koshi Province, according to the Division.
