Light tremor of ML 4.1 jolts Dolakha

KATHMANDU: The National Seismological Centre (NSC) recorded a light tremor of local magnitude 4.1 in Dolakha on Wednesday.

It has been listed as an aftershock of the ML 7.6 earthquake that struck Barpak of Gorkha district as the epicentre on April 25, last year.

According to the NSC, the tremor was recorded at 6:45 pm today.

Its epicentre was near Marbu of Dolakha, with its coordinates given as 27.76° N and 86.34° E.

The last aftershock of local magnitude 4.4 was recorded at 11:34 am with its epicentre in Nuwakot yesterday.

According to the NSC, it has recorded more than 30,000 aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake in a year, but data of only 454 significant aftershocks were processed to alert the public.
