URLABARI, MORANG: A woman has died and two others have sustained injuries in a lightning that struck Letang Municipailty of the district on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Gita Ghimire (32), a local of Letang Municipality-9 in Morang. Likewise, the injured have been identified as Ghimire's sister-in-law Menuka Ghimire and neighbour Dhan Bahadur Rai.

The incident occurred when the lightning coupled with rainfall struck Ghimire, who later succumbed to her injury during the course of treatment at local Pathari Hospital.

Khagendra Khadka, Police Inspector at Letang-based Area Police Office, informed that the injured persons have been undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
