Lightning injures 60 students

PYUTHAN; At least 60 students who were taking tuition classes at Dharmawati Secondary school located at Lamchhyang were injured when a lightning struck the area in the afternoon on Tuesday.

Condition of tenth grader Himal BK, Balaram Neupane and 9th grader Radhika Bhushal is said to be critical and are undergoing treatment at local health facility.

Several others in Bijuli Village Development Committee, ward no 2 were also injured by lightning. According to teacher Yubaraj Regmi, other students have returned home after minor treatment.

Two computers in the school were also destroyed in the strike. According to Pyuthan DSP Rajendra Dhakal, a complete report of damages is yet to be received.
