Lightning kills one, minor swept away

BHOJPUR: At least two persons were killed in different districts of the east on Friday. Damber Manya Bhandari, 57, of Leguwa VDC, Dhankuta died on the spot after a lightening bolt struck her at the VDC on Friday. The incident occurred while she was in her house at around 7pm, said police. Similarly, a minor was swept away by Lohandra River at Sisawanijadaha VDC of Morang on Friday. The minor has been identified as Shivalal Hasda, 2, of the VDC, said police. Area Police Office, Rangeli said that the minor was swept away while he was playing.

Two killed in accident

DHADING: At least two persons were killed and three others were injured when a truck met with an accident along at Bhumesthan VDC along the Prithivi Highway in Dhading on Saturday morning. The deceased have been identified as truck driver Manahar Dhital and helper Abinas Ghimire of Hetauda, said police. According to Area Police Office, Gajuri, the truck, en route to Hetauda from Kathmandu, fell some 100 meters below the road into Mahesh Khola. The injured were rushed to Kathmandu for treatment.
