Limbuwan’s ‘prohibitory order’
Phidim, September 1:
Limbuwan Volunteers, affiliated with Sanghiya Limbuwan Rajyaparishad (SLR), today imposed indefinite prohibitory order in Phidim Bazaar and other adjoining areas of the district, banning movement during the night time.
“We were forced to issue prohibitory order from 10 pm to 3 am every night as the incidents of theft and other criminal activities are increasing,” the Limbuwan Volunteers said.
SLR’s youth leader Mitra Lingden said they had to issue prohibitory order to control criminal activities, which were going unabated in different parts of the district even in the presence of security personnel.
He further added that the prohibitory order would help the police maintain security and order in those areas.
“We will employ some 50 youths to enforce the order.
People will have to seek the permission of police and Limbuwan Volunteers before going out of their houses during the night time. The youths will also discourage the sale and consumption of liquor,” Lingden said. Those not abiding by the prohibitory orders would be arrested and handed over to the police, a statement issued by SLR said.
