Load-shedding will end within a year: Energy Minister Janardan Sharma

Nepalgunj, November 26

Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma today said the country would get rid of load-shedding within a year.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Centre Banke in Nepalgunj, Sharma said the government was working to make the country free from load shedding.

“The ministry for energy is working hard to make the country load

shedding-free within a year,” Sharma added.

He stated that his ministry had prioritised the completion of under-construction hydroelectricity projects as per the 37-point work plan to end load-shedding.

He added that his ministry had been seeking alternatives to resolve the power crisis.

In a different context, Sharma stressed on amending the statute and implementing it to protect the achievements made so far. He said constitution amendment would solidify national unity.

“The incumbent government was formed to address the dissatisfaction raised by Madhesis through statute amendment and its implementation,” Sharma added.
