Chitwan, June 19:

Minister for Local Development Dev Gurung today said that the local bodies would be formed by mid-July.

Inaugurating the 16th Chitwan District Development Committee Council in Bharatpur, Gurung said, “The local body will be formed by mid-July as per the agreement among the eight parties.”

“All rights including selecting the leadership of local bodies will lie on the eight parties,” he added.

Stressing the need for taking the unity of eight parties to a new height, Gurung said, “The new height is a republican set-up.”

Saying that the present condition is not stable, he accused leaders of some political parties of surrendering themselves to foreign regressive forces. He said that the government is in the process of making the local bodies prosperous.
