Local level election results so far
Kathmandu, May 16
As vote counting results trickle in, on the second day, CPN-UML mayoral candidate Ratna Bahadur Khadga won the election at Narayan Municipality in Dailkeh. Khadga won with 4,725 votes while the party’s Sabitri Malla was elected deputy mayor with 4,866 votes.
Similarly, CPN-UML’s Bed Bahadur Gurung was elected Kaski’s Madi Rural Municipality chief. His nearest rival is NC’s Devijung Gurung. UML’s Bishnu Paudel won the deputy chief post at the rural municipality.
Of the 12 wards in Madi, CPN-UML clinched victory in six wards, while NC and CPN-Maoist Centre won three wards each.
Likewise, UML’s Ghanshyam Subedi was elected chief of Phedikhola Rural Municipality in Syangja. His nearest rival is NC’s Tarapati Subedi. UML’s Devi Thapa won the post of deputy chief at the rural municipality.
At Rasuwa’s Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, UML’s Kaishangnurpu Tamang won the post of chief.
UML’s candidate Chitra Bahadur Chalaune won the chief of Dorchaur Rural Municipality, Salyan. His nearest rival is CPN-Maoist’s Narbir Chalaune. UML’s Pushpa Bohora was elected as deputy chief.
Maoist Centre’s candidates Ram Bahadur Basnet and Rudra Budhathoki were elected as ward chiefs of Wards No 1 and 2 of Dhorchaur Rural Municipality in Salyan.
UML candidates Shalikram Budhathoki and Nandalal Bohora won the wards chiefs at Ward No 3 and 5. NC’s Dinesh BM was elected chief at ward No 4 after NC and UML candidates got equal votes in the district.
Similarly, CPN-Maoist Centre’s Nimraj KC won the post of chief at Salyan’s Darma Rural Municipality. Maoist Centre’s Tika Sharma was elected deputy chief at the rural municipality.
Maoist Centre’s Nar Bahadur Pun was elected chief at Sanibheri Rural Municipality, Rukum. His nearest rival was NC’s Gorakh Bahadur Chand. Maoist Centre’s Indira Oli won deputy chief at the rural municipality.
CPN-Maoist Centre won chief, deputy chief and ward chiefs of all seven wards and members at Marin Rural Municipality in Sindhuli. Paniraj Bamjan bagged the post of chief at the rural municipality.
Maoist Centre’s Bagdal Malla was elected chief of Tajakot Rural Municipality in Humla. Maoist Centrer’s Manju Budha was voted deputy chief.
Nepali Congress candidate Laxman Bohora was elected chief at Patasari Rural Municipality in Jumla. Maoist candidate Gauri Budha was his nearest rival.
In Ramechhap, Nepali Congress has won chiefs in six wards so far. CPN-Maoist Centre has clinched victory in five wards while CPN-UML bagged four wards.
