Local level in Dhading to build facility for attendants

Dhading, June 18

Ganga Jamuna Rural Municipality is planning to build a residence facility meant for attendants of expecting women in each health post of the rural municipality in Dhading district.

The rural municipality’s health Coordinator Dipak Adhikari said the plan was part of the government campaign to encourage women to deliver in health posts so as to ensure safety of both the mother and the baby.

“Presently, we are forced to return women who approach us for delivery service for want of a facility where their attendants could stay. With the construction of such a facility, women who come to health facilities from faraway places will benefit as their attendants will be able to stay with them in the facility provided by the health post,” said Adhikari.

Further, Adhikari said the rural municipality planned to do all it could to ensure better health services in government health facilities across the district.
