SIRAHA, SEPTEMBER 26
Community schools in Laxmipur Patari Rural Municipality and Mirchaiya Municipality of Siraha, that have remained closed for the past six months are likely to open from tomorrow.
Education sections of both the local bodies, by issuing separate notices, decided to open schools by adopting safety measures.
Laxmipur Patari Rural Municipality has decided to run schools in two shifts across the local level by making it compulsory for students to use face masks and maintain social distancing.
Mirchaiya Municipality has also allowed community schools to resume classes from tomorrow by following the government safety criteria.
The municipality also urged private schools not to collect fees for the period when schools were closed. The municipality has mandated schools to only keep maximum two students on a bench asking them to immediately conduct health checkup of students showing doubtful symptoms.
Schools are also asked to adopt precautionary measures while transporting students between their homes and schools and manage soap and water at the school entrance for them to wash their hands before entering the school premises. Schools in Golbazaar area have started running classes by sending their teachers to students’ villages.
“Given the pandemic risk, schools have started taking classes in students’ villages by sending teachers there,” said Golbazaar Education Committee member Jagat Shrestha, adding schools were allowed to run classes of higher grades at the school adopting safety measures.
