Chundi Ramgha, July 13:

Locals have urged concerned authorities to rebuild the ancestral home of poet Bhanubhakta Acharya in Chundibasi, Tanahun.

“We want the Bhanu Griha rebuilt then we would feel happy,” locals said.

Residents are raising their voice for its reconstruction for years but the authority had turned deaf ears. They are serious about its existence.

In course of the shooting of the film about Bhanu Bhakta seven years ago, the house was rebuilt but after two years it burnt down because of a forest fire.

After that, none of theb concerned authorities tried to reconstruct it or preserve its existence.

The historical Bhanu Griha had broadened within 9 ropani of land.

There were two doorways — the east and west — and other traditional devices (Dhiki, Jato, Tauwa, Tulashi, Khaliyo). The locals of Chundibasi blame themselves for not being able to protect Bhanu Griha.

Muktinath Acharya, greatgrandson of poet Bhanu said there might occur some difficulty

in protecting the house if it is reconstructed in the same place.

Rishi Bhakta Dhakal, a social worker endorsed of Muktinath’s opinion. Dhakal suggested constructing the house in the premises of the Bhanu Birth Place Development Committee.
